The University of Oxford (Americans For Oxford)- The Heir Project

The Historic Environment Image Resource (HEIR) is a project to tag old photographs and glass slides and re-photograph them as they appear now. It is a research tool and archive of change seen through pictorial evidence from the mid-19th century onwards. Digitizing, keywording and identifying images of architecture, archeological digs, monuments, landscapes and environments gleaned from academic and private archives, The HEIR project is amassing a photographic resource useful across a wide variety of disciplines.
