The RGK Center for Philanthropy and Community Service at the University of Texas at Austin is establishing an annual award program
to foster a new generation of leaders that values creativity, ingenuity and entrepreneurship in the design of solutions to the most difficult
social problems. The program operates like a business plan competition. Each year, students will develop plans, with finalists being
invited to present their ideas to a selection committee. The program will then award significant start-up funds to graduating students
and catapult the most compelling and innovative visions forward into real-life applications. The range of projects eligible for the award
is limited only by the ambitions and imaginations of the student contestants.
Ultimately, the RGK Center seeks to generate interest and expertise from all fields of study and encourage young social change agents
to consider careers in public service when they might not otherwise have done so. The competition challenges students to focus their energy
and idealism on new projects that will have the greatest social impact.
